This is the second of two mixtapes I made for my sister Jessa. After the first got funky and soulful, this one mellows out, and tries to soothe Jono McCleery and Joni Mitchell’s angst with some global perspectives and country jazz.
This is the first of two mixtapes I made for my sister Jessa; highlights include:
- Gil Scott-Heron’s track Is That Jazz? dubbed from the 1983 documentary Black Wax.
- Thelma Houston’s I’ve Got The Music In Me (I edited and replaced the original ending with the finale from the ‘reprise’ cut).
- Elza Soares, the horns, and the trombone on Quero Morrer No Carnaval.
Despite frequent shelter visits and daily refreshes on petfinder.com, I wasn’t having much luck finding a kitten; I wanted a younger tabby with a particular look, shelter populations were thinning for the winter, and kittens were moving fast.
I finally found my new best friend, Monkey, three months later following a great tip from a shelter volunteer.
